Unit 7
1. "Meeting Asciepius" exercise on track #4 of the Dacher CD.
I am glad to be in this class, I have learned a lot of things though I have not mastered everything that we are learning. This class came just in time for me. I have many things that I did not know and now I am putting everything together and I am begging to make sense of most of the things. I am somehow not happy because when I get home I will be worn up and will be facing all the homework and other duties to do before the next morning. So if I sit down without doing anything physically my eyes just closes. I have being trying to do the practices but did not accomplish the best and am saving them for future actions when things cool down. I will keep on sharing the texts with others so they can share and benefit the goodies so they can be helped in their own lives. It is said “Go spread the gospel and let those who want to hear, hear and those who want to listen, listen”
2. Once I am able to do the meditations properly I make sure I keep on practicing everyday. Preferable in the morning, so that I will start my day fresh and relaxed, with an open mind. The practices reduce stress, anxiety, depression, improve the spiritual, mind, body and mental well - being.
3. Describe the saying: "One cannot lead another where one has not gone himself” (P.477)
As a health professional I have to talk of experience not theory. When someone has been in a situation, they understand better than someone who will be using book experience. When you are trying to tell a client about eating good, making good food choices and using good methods of cooking you have to demonstrate, so that it makes sense to the client. You cannot talk about how bad the fast foods restaurants are when the clients see you with fried food everyday and you will be breaking the scale with overweight. We understand the pitfalls better and you know most of the problems and how or what helped you to get back in to the track to where you will be. Health and wellness professions should not talk of read my lips but do as I am doing. It is very impressive when you can prove that you travel on the same road and have since changed. You tell them that I have made the wrong moves but you have backspaced and now you are in the right track. When you sympathies, you are earnest, and your advise is genuine. Experience is the best teacher. This is why it is said, one cannot lead another where one has not gone himself” (P.477) we have to tell the story as is. These improve and develop your health psychologically, physically, and spiritually
I also have a bit of trouble getting to sit still without wanting to take a power nap. The to-do-list makes it hard to sit through a meditation without a thought about what I should be doing. I am a strong believer that one needs to " practice what they preach" I have had doctors talk to me about poor habits when I have seen them in a few of their own habits. I hope that you find more time or balance to enjoy these meditation more.
